Endless country outlines

Country Shape Unlimited gives you a fresh, random country silhouette every round. The rules match the daily game: you have six guesses, and every wrong answer shows the distance in kilometres, an arrow pointing toward the mystery country and a proximity score. Only countries with an area of at least 2,000 km² appear, so you will not be asked to identify a dot in the ocean.

How to get better at shapes

Outlines are harder than flags because the map gives you no colours to work with. Focus on distinctive features: long coastlines, panhandles, enclaves, island chains and straight colonial borders. Landlocked countries usually have irregular, river-shaped borders, while many African and Middle Eastern borders follow straight lines of latitude and longitude. Unlimited mode is the ideal place to learn these patterns because a miss costs you nothing; your daily streak stays untouched.

Practice tips

  • Note the aspect ratio: tall and thin (Chile, Malawi), wide (Austria, Gambia) or compact (Uruguay, Belarus).
  • Count the coastlines: is the country landlocked, coastal on one side or a peninsula?
  • Use the arrow from your first guess to pick the continent before you guess specific countries.
